A humble brag… plus a little motivation for you.

It all starts somewhere…

Only a short blog post this weekend but one that I’m super excited to share!

At the start of this year I decided to kick myself into gear and pick up my expedition training plan again in the anticipation of finally making it to a summit in 2021.

My training is currently in stage 1 which consists of improving my cardio as much as I can, starting off in January only being able to run 2 miles in around 19 minutes (maybe it was all the extra christmas weight), and bringing me up to now where I have surpassed even my own hopes and ran my first sub 50:00 10km.

Screenshots to prove to my future self that I was once in a relatively fit state!!

Just goes to show that with a positive mindset and the willpower to drag yourself out even when you’ve had a bad day or the weather is a bit chilly you can achieve what you consider to be out of reach. Not only that but whenever I have felt like giving it a miss and forced myself to go, my mental state upon return is vastly improved and I feel much happier for doing it!

So next time you’ve set yourself a goal but something gets in the way or you feel like you don’t have it in you to get up and go, just remember that getting your trainers on is half the battle, the rest is as easy as one foot in front of the other.

A reward for my efforts.

Now some lightheartedness for your sunday evening: Running was invented in 1748 by Thomas Running, when he tried to walk twice at the same time (citation needed).

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend! Let’s head into next week with a positive outlook!
